Kawartha Woodturners Guild presents:
A Day with Eli Avisera

Eli is an internationally known woodturning demonstrator and teacher. He has been invited to many countries to show his unique variety of techniques. Eli uses a line of his own signature tools (manufactured by Hamlet Tools). These unique tools have been developed based on over 30 years of experience in woodturning. He is a very knowledgeable teacher and you will learn a great deal from his seminar, regardless of your level of turning. For more information, check out Eli’s website at www.avisera.co.il/
Eli is planning a full day, as evidenced by his proposed program:
Proposed One-Day Demo Program
To start, a demonstration of sharpening tools, focusing on Eli Avisera’s sharpening techniques.
- Eli will demonstrate how to work correctly with a skew chisel & he’ll turn a few products.
- Candle holder & copy-turning spindle work
- Boxes with different techniques, including coloring and texturing.
- Bowls and platters.- he will turn a bowl with a Jerusalem stone texture.
- Off-centre turning, including a few new products such as a lady pen and a whistle.
- Square bowl with coloring and texturing.
- Hollow mushroom
- Tromblaire, (an extremely thin and long turning).
Depending on the time left, Eli will add few other projects.
Tickets will be available at our year-end meeting on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 and at the door on the day of the demonstration. Please do let us know if you are planning on attending so that we may make the proper catering arrangements.
